Constitution of Student Council

Roles and Responsibilities: In continuation of the notification regarding the reconstitution of the Student Council, the following roles and responsibilities are assigned to the office bearers and members of the Student Council for the academic year 2026–27.
The Student Council shall function under the guidance of the Mentor Committee and shall serve as a representative body of students to promote academic excellence, leadership, sportsmanship, cultural development, and student welfare.

Objectives of the Student Council: To represent student interests and concerns before the college administration.

  • To promote student participation in academic, cultural, sports, and social activities.
  • To foster leadership, teamwork, discipline, and professional conduct among students.
  • To assist in organizing institutional events and extracurricular activities.

  • Roles and Responsibilities

    President:

  • Lead and coordinate all Student Council activities.
  • Preside over council meetings and ensure effective functioning of the council.
  • Act as the primary liaison between students, faculty mentors, and the college administration.
  • Ensure implementation of council decisions and approved activities.
  • Promote student welfare and maintain discipline during events.

  • Vice President:

  • Assist the President in all council activities.
  • Perform the duties of the President in his/her absence.
  • Coordinate activities among various committees and student representatives
  • Monitor the progress of council initiatives and programs.

  • General Secretary:

  • Maintain records, minutes of meetings, and official correspondence of the council.
  • Coordinate meetings and communicate decisions to members.
  • Prepare activity reports and maintain documentation of council events.
  • Assist in planning and execution of all council activities.

  • Sports Secretary:

  • Plan and organize sports events, tournaments, and fitness activities.
  • Coordinate with the Department of Physical Education and Sports.
  • Encourage student participation in intra- and inter-collegiate sports competitions.
  • Maintain records of sports activities and achievements.

  • Cultural Secretary:

  • Organize cultural programs, festivals, competitions, and talent events
  • Coordinate cultural activities during college functions and celebrations.
  • Encourage student participation in cultural events at various levels.
  • Promote artistic and creative activities among students.

  • Council Members:

  • Represent their respective phases/classes and communicate student concerns.
  • Assist office bearers in organizing and conducting activities.
  • Encourage participation of students in council initiatives.
  • Uphold discipline, professionalism, and the reputation of the institution
  • Attend council meetings regularly and contribute constructively.

  • General Responsibilities of the Student Council:

  • Organize sports, cultural, literary, and community outreach activities.
  • Promote teamwork, inclusiveness, and student engagement
  • Maintain transparency and accountability in all council activities.
  • Work in coordination with the Mentor Committee and obtain prior approval for all major events.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional policies and regulations.

  • All Student Council members are expected to discharge their duties diligently and contribute towards the holistic development of the student community and the institution.
