Citizen Charter

The citizens are welcome to East Point College of medical Sciences and Research Centre & Hospital, managed by M.G. Charitable Trust, the premier teaching hospital and research institute located at the village called Bidarahalli in the rural part of Bangalore East established in the year 2014. It shall impart a very High Quality of Integrated Medical Education with a view to develop smart young Doctors with excellent theoretical knowledge, Clinical skills and impeccable patient communication and bedside manners. The mission of the institution is to train competent health care professionals committed to serving especially the poor and the marginalized of the society.

MEDICAL COLLEGE

The EPCMSRC is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. The duration of the M.B.B.S course is four and half years (9 terms, each of 6 month duration) of academic Study and one year of internship. Clinical training in the Hospitals attached to the Institute will commence after the student successfully completes Phase-I & will continue till the end of the course. The precautionary measures are taken to ensure every student admitted for the protection of their social rights and academic privileges and constituted the following committees:

    TEACHING HOSPITAL (EPCMSRC&H)

    The hospital has a team of dedicated, well qualified health care professionals to provide quality services and medical care to each and every citizen of the rural community in and around our premises. In line with our mandate, we at EPCMSRC&H, strive hard to provide high quality tertiary health care services to our clientele. However, there may be some deficiencies due to extreme patient load and limited recourses. The charter seeks to provide a frame work, which enables our clientele to know the services available in this hospital are:

    EMERGENCY SERVICES

    The Casualty Department works round the clock. There is a separate emergency section of OBG department which is attached to labor room. The casualty is equipped with 10 beds having Central Oxygen Supply, Central Suction, Defibrillator, Pulse Oxymeter, Ambu Bag, Disaster Trolley and Crash Carts. It is connected to a minor operation theatre and two emergency operation theatres which is fully equipped with Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Surgical equipment.

    The Radiology department and clinical laboratories are placed close to the casualty to serve emergency patients round the Clock.

    Timing: 24X7

    OPD

    East Point Hospital is designed keeping patient convenience in mind and has spacious OPD all located on a single floor for ease of patients and to facilitate health care for all kinds of ailments. All the departments like General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, OBG, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Pulmonary Medicine, Dental and Psychiatry have their OPD facilities. Clinical demonstration rooms are provided within each of the OPD.

    Diagnostic facilities are provided by the Central Diagnostic Laboratory having all the three departments of Pathology, Biochemistry and Microbiology. The department of Radio-Diagnosis has 2 portable x ray machines 300mA, 600mA and 800mA with I.I.T.V. X Ray machine and Ultrasound machines with Doppler and a State of the Art 64 Slice CT Scan.

    Canteen is available which serves hygienic food at a nominal price.

  • General OPD on Monday to Friday : 9am to 4pm
  • General OPD on Saturday: 9am to 1pm
  • ICU

    Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is a highly specialized 35-bed unit dedicated to the needs of patients requiring intensive monitoring and patient care. The ICU is staffed 24 hours a day by highly qualified physicians who are certified in Internal and critical care medicine and multiple rounds of patient monitoring with aim to titrate the medications. A team of specialized nurses and other technical staff assists the physicians always. The physician conducts daily patient care rounds with this team to develop an individualized plan of care for each patient.

  • CENTRAL DIAGNOSTIC LAB

    The Hospital Laboratory function 24x7and is of vital assistance to the clinicians. It is well staffed with dedicated teaching staff and technicians. The lab results are precise, reliable and accurately reproducible.

    The Laboratory is fully automated and has state of the art equipment having the latest technology which gives accurate results in the least turnaround time.

    The central Laboratory performs effective internal quality controls for all parameters, and is regularly participating in external quality assurance test programmes which are reviewed by CMC Vellore and AIIMS New Delhi

    Pharmacy

    The Hospital Pharmacy is well stocked with more than two thousand drugs and consumables to cater to most of the diseases and maladies. The generic drugs are also stocked separately and issued free of cost to the not so fortunate patients of the neighboring villages, old age homes and orphanages.

    AMBULANCE SERVICES

    Emergency services are offered 24 hours a day, seven days a week at East Point Hospital. Emergency services care is provided by our highly trained crisis teams of doctors, nurses, physician assistants and paramedics.

    Whether arriving by private vehicle or ambulance, all patients are assessed by a the casualty medical officer to determine the severity of illness or injury, which is referred to as the triage process. Patients with more serious problems are attended to before patients with less severe symptoms or injuries.

    The quality of services they are entitled to and means through which complaints regarding denial or poor quality of services will be redressed.
